A DAY FOR THE PLANET
On the 30th of May of 2021 people from Ibiza come together to clean the island as a symbol of our mutual responsibility to care for the planet.
We have a proactive spirit and connect through art to raise awareness about environmental problems. Given the current circumstances, we won’t be able to
come together physically, so we got more creative 🙂
CALL UP
Respecting the current restrictions and health requirements, each on his/her own goes out to clean their closest surrounding. Alone, in pairs, with family, or reference group.
Together on… A Day For The Planet
We have joined with Plastic Free Ibiza and invite:
– Outdoor leisure businesses such as kayaking,
paddle surfing, diving, boats, bicycles, hiking, etc.
– Bars, restaurants and hotels.
– Artists: live music, DJ set, poetry, performance,
live painting, dance … the artistic expression of
your choice.
We’d love for ALL THE PEOPLE OF IBIZA to join!
We want to showcase art pieces addressing the artists’ vision for Ibiza & For The Planet.
Everything going on during “A day For The Planet” will be collected in a digital magazine “La Visión”
COLLECTION POINTS
The 30th of May there will collection points on each part of the island (North, East, South, West & Middle) coordinated by different organizations from Plastic Free Ibiza.
There you can bring all the trash you collected. It will get sorted, transported and disposed in the correct way… Or sort and dispose correctly on your own in any of the municipal containers, but don’t forget to send us before a photo and the aprox. weight of the collected trash !!
CLEAN UP INSTRUCTIONS
Given the current circumstances, we won’t be able to come go clean up together, so please keep the following in mind:
– Take your own gloves & bag, bucket or container.
– Choose a place, it can be a beach, a forest, your street, whatever you wish and start to pick up the trash.
– Bring it to one of our central points afterwards so that it can be sorted, weighed and correctly disposed.
And send us a photo, the aprox. weight of the collected trash, sort and dispose correctly on your own.
For this purpose we are going to collect as much data as possible.
ART
Art as an expression can be a powerful way to inspire others. We want to give the creatives of the island a platform for their expressions.
Both, at the collection points and at the collaborating bars and restaurants, we will showcase the artistic contributions for the positive change for the planet.
This will be recorded, live streamed and collected in the journal “The Visión”.
May it be live music, DJ set, poetry, performance, paint, live painting, dance, instalations… whichever artistic expression one is choosing.
LA VISION
After A Day For The Planet we will compile all the art pieces, visionary statements, photos, videos, poems, short stories and more in one digital magazine.
We call on everyone to help us make this collection as grand and diverse as possible.
With “The Vision” we will always be reminded of the commitment to care for the planet and the impact we can have when we come together.
A manifestation of those inner expressions full of hope and vision of the people of Ibiza.
